Emirates Expands Payment Options with Crypto
Emirates has now embraced crypto payments for flights, enhancing traveler convenience with Crypto.com Pay. This innovative payment option is available on the Emirates website and app, allowing seamless transactions in UAE dirhams (AED). The move follows a memorandum of understanding signed between Emirates and Crypto.com in July 2025 to explore integrating the crypto payment solution into the airline's digital payment ecosystem.
How Crypto.com Pay Works for Emirates Bookings
Travellers booking through emirates.com or the Emirates App can select Crypto.com Pay during checkout. Payments are processed securely and adhere to UAE regulatory standards. On the Emirates App, customers will be redirected to the Crypto.com app to approve payment from their wallets. Once completed, they will return to the Emirates app to receive their booking confirmation and e-ticket.
Supporting UAE's Digital Payment Strategy
Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated the new payment option enhances customer choice. This initiative aligns with Dubai's Cashless Strategy, aiming to digitize 90% of financial transactions by 2026.
