Hays Chamber Health Insurance Update: Aetna Partnership
Hays Chamber Health Insurance Program Overview
The Hays Chamber has aligned with Aetna to provide a new level-funded health insurance plan for local businesses, effectively replacing the previous Chamber Blue program which concludes on December 31. This change is spurred by the Department of Justice ruling concerning non-discrimination in health programs. The new insurance offerings are being managed by Gallagher Benefit Services.
Eligibility and Plan Features
Only businesses with between 2 to 100 employees are eligible for these plans, excluding LLCs without employees. Interested members can choose from eight different plan designs, with up to four plans available to their employees. An enticing 2% discount on monthly premiums is offered exclusively to members, a benefit not usually available through standard Aetna plans.
Enrollment and Access
The enrollment period for these new plans is open year-round, allowing businesses to join at any time convenient for them. Enrolled businesses gain access to Aetna's Choice POSII Open Access network, along with two statewide local networks.
Chamber Membership Requirement
It is crucial to note that this health insurance program is exclusive to members of the Chamber in Hays, which currently has over 500 businesses under its umbrella.
