Unlock Faster Charging with Apple’s Latest iPhones Featuring USB-C

Fast Charging Capabilities of the Latest iPhones
All the new iPhone 16 models unveiled this week can reportedly charge more than 50 percent faster through a wired USB-C connection than the previous series. That’s according to a Chinese certification posted on Weibo indicating that Apple’s latest iPhones can support up to 45W of wired fast charging.
Details from China Quality Certification Centre
The certification from the China Quality Certification Centre regulatory body shows all of the new iPhone 16 models were tested at 5-15 volts and 3 amps, equating to a 45W maximum. Comparatively, the iPhone 15 lineup maxed out at 29W. As reported by 9To5Mac, Apple often overlooks announcements regarding wired charging.
Comparison with Competitors
- The 45W max of the iPhone 16 easily bests the Google Pixel 9’s 27W capabilities.
- The Pixel 9 Pro XL achieves 37W, while the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is on par.
- However, these still fall short of the 240W-plus fast charging capabilities of some Chinese phones, including Realme’s upcoming 320W technology.
Despite this, we’ll take what we can get. The latest iPhones also feature faster wired wireless charging now that MagSafe can deliver up to 25W when paired with a 30W power adapter, an upgrade from 15W on previous iPhone models.
