What's New in iOS 18?

iOS 18 isn't set to dramatically transform your iPhone experience, but it introduces a variety of i new features that can significantly enhance functionality. One major highlight is the expanded Home Screen customization options. Users can now customize the tint of app icons and place them freely—bringing a familiar vibe for those used to Android.

RCS Support for iPhone

This version marks the debut of RCS support, effectively enabling iMessage-like capabilities for green bubble texts. Group chats will finally work seamlessly between iPhone and Android, and video quality issues are a thing of the past.

Control Center Overhaul

The Control Center is also receiving a significant overhaul. Similar to the Home Screen, users can modify the Control Center to display only preferred features and remove any that are unnecessary. In a first, there's now also a power button option allowing users to shut down their device directly from Control Center.

How to Download iOS 18

To download iOS 18, open the Settings on your iPhone, navigate to General > Software Update. Your device will likely show the current version, iOS 17.7, but a prompt to Upgrade to iOS 18 should appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap this option and select Update Now to commence the download.
