Canadiens' Practice Focus on Recovery and Defensive Strategies

Canadiens Work to Overcome Recent Challenges
BROSSARD – Right now, the Canadiens are looking for fastballs, but life keeps tossing them curveballs instead. It’s been a challenging period for the Habs with four consecutive losses and three injuries, leading to building frustration.
In light of their recent 7-2 defeat to the Rangers at the Bell Centre, the Canadiens returned to practice at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard, ready to regroup. Today’s focus was on one-on-one and three-on-three battles.
Defensive Strategies in Practice
“Our defensive zone,” head coach Martin St-Louis noted when asked about his key priorities for the week. “Our attitude and connectivity. It's about re-emphasizing those aspects,” he specified.
During the midweek session, players like Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Juraj Slafkovský continued their individualized work with the team’s director of player development, Adam Nicholas.
Injury Updates and Next Game
Players Joel Armia, Christian Dvorak, and Mike Matheson were absent for therapy, while Justin Barron remains day-to-day due to an upper-body injury. Kaiden Guhle is out with an upper-body injury.
St-Louis’ troops are set to face the St. Louis Blues at the Bell Centre on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
