Rückruf Lenkung Skoda: Key Details

Audi, Seat, and Volkswagen have initiated a significant recall affecting over 2.1 million vehicles worldwide. The recall targets a potentially faulty screw in the steering gear, which could lead to steering failures and increase the risk of accidents. Affected models include:

  • Audi Q3 (produced between October 31, 2017, and May 23, 2024).
  • Volkswagen Golf, Golf Variant, Tiguan, Touran, and Caddy (manufactured from September 24, 2013, to July 1, 2024).
  • Seat Ateca and Tarraco (produced between April 2016 and September 2024).

Potential Risks and Repair Process

Manufacturer reports indicate that corrosion may lead to screw breakage in the steering connection, which could compromise vehicle control. Although no known injuries or damages have been reported yet, affected vehicle owners are advised to contact:

  • VW: 0800/8655 792 436
  • Seat: 06150/1079991
  • Audi: 0800/2834 7378 423

Owners must take their vehicles to the workshop for free repairs once contacted by the manufacturer. The existing screw will be replaced, although some vehicles may temporarily receive screws of the previous type due to shortages of corrosion-resistant replacements.
