TasNetworks Struggles with Power Outages from Gale-Force Winds

Some TasNetworks customers could still be without power over the weekend, following gale-force winds overnight and this morning, a company spokesperson says.

The spokesperson reported pole damage, downed lines, and trees on lines were causing the outages, with 2,641 customers in the North-West remaining without power as of 2 PM on August 30. The company's resources, including multiple crews from external contractors, are engaged to address the outages. A union-led action paused due to the storm event.
